Sales Engineer -Wholesale

 About the Role:

Will work in a team environment, with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects with positive results.   Will be a positive and productive member of an existing/established Sales organization. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide technical sales support for all services sold by Windstream’s Carrier & Enterprise Network Solutions team.
  • Aid in the development of network solutions for both Carrier & Enterprise Network customers to include analyzing customer needs, providing technical support on RFPs/RFIs and presenting solutions to customers
  • Identify technical issues involving network design, topology, access, POP locations and maps
  • Assist with solutions involving fiber builds
  • Serve as technical liaison between Carrier & Enterprise Network Solutions Team and Windstream internal support groups (ICSC, Network Planning and Engineering, Service Delivery, Network Operations, Pricing, Product Development and Legal)
  • Coordinate network interconnection with Carrier & Enterprise Network customers by interfacing with Windstream network planning and engineering personnel
  • Maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge of Windstream network, products and services and relevant related industry communication technologies

Do You Have?

  • Experience in the wholesale and High-end Enterprise space
  • Skilled in use of basic and advanced computer software including Microsoft Office and Visio
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong understanding of DWDM, SONET and Ethernet technologies and application
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and guidance
  • Background in network planning and engineering, data planning and engineering or sales engineering


Minimum Requirements:

  • College degree in Engineering or a related field and 5-7 years professional level experience with 0-2 years supervisory experience; or 9+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience with 0-2 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • College degree in a technical field and 7-9 years of professional level experience or 12 years professional level related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related technical experience
