Finance & Accounting Leadership Development Program

Think you have what it takes to be a leader? The Finance Leadership Development program is an opportunity for highly motivated and talented individuals, with finance and accounting related backgrounds, to learn the necessary skills to be in a future leadership role at Windstream. Selected individuals are assigned a series of finance and accounting teams, each one immersing them in the team’s operations and procedures and providing management exposure. Leadership participants are assigned a management level mentor, provided special training, and given the opportunity to participate in philanthropic activities and special projects.

  • Senior level hours for full-time positions
  • Junior level hours for internships
  • 3.2 + GPA requirement
  • Willingness to relocate to Little Rock, AR
  • Accounting, Finance, MIS, or other business-related field required

IT Summer Internship

Calling all coders! The Windstream IT Internship Program exposes participants to the exciting world of telecom and software development. The program equips participants with real-life skills necessary for many roles in the IT organization as well as allowing managers to identify if the participant would be a qualified future full-time hire.

Junior Developer:

Assist with product design, documentation, and release testing.
Develop, test, and implement code in agile development environments. Opportunities in User Interface design, workflow automation development, IT network monitoring development and more!
Assist senior team members with issue/bug investigation and resolution.
Design and optimize SQL database queries.
Complete intern project and present to leadership.

In addition to receiving hands-on training, here are a few other perks to being an IT Intern at Windstream:

Every summer our interns get to know each other better by participating in three team builders. In past years, these have included Escape Rooms, Baseball games and Bowling.



Each intern will have one to two mentors within IT that will assist in guiding the interns through their daily functions as well as help them navigate the working world in a corporate environment.

Engineering Development Program

The Windstream Engineering Development Program is designed to expose participants to a variety of Windstream’s Engineering workgroups. The program equips participants with the skills necessary for many roles in the Engineering organization including Voice & Applications Engineering, IP Engineering, Transport Network Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Broadband Engineering, Outside Plant Engineering, Network Business Intelligence, Network Operations and Architecture & Technology.

The skill set obtained through the program is based on a rotational program, geared to teach participants about all levels of Engineering work groups, and the telecom industry. The focus of our charter is to bring in newly educated talent (EDP) into Windstream's bloodline. As a secondary objective, we are investing in our mentor's development (EDP) by allowing them to mentor the next line of leaders. The final objective is to foster relationships with Colleges and Universities and show our investment in our network's footprint.

When we interview & hire: Fall Semester We conduct interviews on campus and at Windstream locations ending mid-November presenting job offers shortly thereafter.
Our team typically attends SET / STEM career fairs or posts on campus job boards at the following schools: Clemson University, University of South Carolina, Harding University & University of Arkansas.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Full-time positions: Seniors – Must graduate by Spring Semester (December and/or May graduates)
  • Summer Internship: Must have completed Junior level hours by Spring Semester and preferably be one year or less from entering the workforce
  • Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology and/or related majors
  • 3.2 + GPA requirement
  • Willingness to relocate to Greenville, SC or Little Rock, AR

  • Finance, Business & Marketing majors- Check out job titles noted as an Analyst 1 or Analyst 1/2.
  • IT and Computer Science majors- Consider jobs titles such as Software Engineer 1, System Analyst 1, or IT Analyst 1.
  • Engineer majors - Review job titles notes as Engineer 1.
