About the Role:
The Wholesale Service Assurance Tier III Network Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, trouble shooting, and repair of the Windstream Wholesale Customer Service troubles. Your responsibility will also include troubleshooting issues residing on the Windstream Wholesale backbone network including DWDM, SONET, Ethernet, and FttT circuit troubles. You will provide third level operational support to detect incidents, troubleshoot problems and implement resolutions for Windstream Wholesale Customer and supporting network systems that are deployed nationwide. Additional responsibilities will include monitoring the network and reacting to Netcool alerts, managing incidents through coordination with Transport Engineering, Field Operations, and OSP Engineering teams; and providing regular repair updates to external customers and internal stakeholders throughout the duration of outages. This position is supporting a 24x7x365 work environment and will involve working weekends and holidays.
What You’ll Do:
- Create and document various Method of Procedures to support the Windstream Wholesale Service Assurance NOC repair activities
- Work with LEC’s, IXC’s, vendors, internal departments, and customers to successfully troubleshoot impairments and outages as required
- Utilize Remedy ticketing system for documentation, escalations and Field Operations Dispatches
- Follow prescribed escalation (internal/external) polices within SLAs
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to team members
- Accept and address escalations as provided by NOC Management and Account team members
- Read and interpret CLR/DLRs
- Responsible for the creation of an RCA/RFO for critical outages
- Trouble shoot Electrical/Optical/DWDM/SONET/Ethernet/FttT issues on the network as needed
- Monitor Netcool and the Windstream Wholesale network equipment to detect service outage and network degradation conditions
- Work with Transport engineering and network design teams to create solutions to reduce network affecting incidents, improve customer service performance, reduce manual work by Tier II and Tier I Analyst and enhance network tool visibility.

- Experience with the following equipment: Fujitsu Flashwave product line (7420,4500, 4100, FLM150, FLM2400, Lucent DDM2000, Lucent DMX; Hatteras, Overture, Alcatel 1640, 1648, 1603; Nortel OC48Classic; Tellabs 5500, Alcatel 1631, Cyan Z33/Z77, Cisco ONS 15454, Cisco CPT, Infinera, Ciena 4200, Tellabs 7100
- Familiar with CWDM/DWDM (C-band, L-band, Digital DWDM) theories and protocols, must have experience with troubleshooting wavelengths (2.5g, 10g, 40g, 100g)
- Proficient troubleshooting SONET (OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, OC-192)
- Thorough understanding of sub-tended equipment and circuits
- Ability to effectively direct field technicians and other personnel during trouble shooting and maintenance activities
- Experience performing circuit testing procedures and test equipment
