General Summary:

The Engineer I/II position will be the key lead technical resource for the Service Delivery (BASD) Solutions Engineering team tasked designing, developing, and maintaining the existing automation and optimizing the overall Voice Translations workflow in the Service Delivery organization.

Job Responsibilities:

This Engineer position will be a key technical resource for the Service Delivery (BASD) Solutions Engineering team tasked with automating and optimizing the overall workflow of the Service Delivery organization to include:

  • Support existing Voice Translations Automation
  • Develop new/enhanced processes for building Voice translations in Windstream Switches.
  • Support Resolve/MDSO (runbook automation) platform for automated testing
  • Support Chat Bots Integration with automation for Voice
  • Participate in customer data integrity initiatives to improve records accuracy
  • Provide technical expertise to product development teams

Expected to learn and understand OSS/BSS system interactions related to customer records and services to isolate and identify gaps in automation.

Will support software developers building product enhancements, repair automation scripts, tools, and provide technical analysis of any failures.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Focus on documentation and training material for Service Delivery automation and customer support of Voice services.
  • Lead in design and implementation of new network automation and service testing solutions; including partnering with Automation development teams for Voice services.
  • Lead assigned projects to remediate issues preventing customer services from being automatically tested.
  • Partner with software developers and provide technical guidance to automate Service Delivery processes related to building translations and supporting customer builds.

Preferred Skills:

  • Python, Groovy, SQL, Linux, Shell Scripting
  • Knowledge and experience in Voice Network Design (SIP, PRI, Hosted, Officesuite)
  • Knowledge in Switching Platforms (MetaSwitch, DMS, 5ESS, GTD5, Sonus)
  • Knowledge in Least Cost Network Routing and troubleshooting Call Routing flow
  • Knowledge of Windstream internal systems (Remedy, WinCare CRM, CAMP, and MSS/NGMS)
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodology



Job Requirements

Education and Experience: College degree in Engineering or a related field and 2-4 years professional level experience; or 6 years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
