The HR Advisor is a member of the Human Resources Support Center. The HR Advisor provides general HR support to employees at all levels within the organization as well as former employees and candidates in the pre-employment process.

 

A successful HR Advisor is highly professional, customer service centric, solves problems proactively, consistently maintains confidentiality, enjoys working as a member of team, is helpful to their internal and external customers and is accountable for his/her decisions. HR Advisors frequently take on other tasks and are willing to help team members as needed.



Duties and responsibilities
  • Recruiting and Onboarding Support:
  • Responds to inquiries from managers and other employees regarding the recruiting process; provides accurate guidance.
  • Creates new requisitions in accordance with Windstream policy.
  • Communicates with candidates to ensure timely completion of drug screens and background checks. 
  • Uses discretion to escalates concerns and/or obtain guidance.
  • Launches electronic onboarding of candidates. Follows up as needed to ensure completion. 

 Employee Relations Support: 
  • Utilizes a case management tool to code and answer all incoming HR related questions. Prioritizes work accordingly.
  • Escalates/redirects cases to appropriate HR groups (Benefits, Payroll, Strategic Partners) to ensure resolution.
  • Manages moderation of the HR space in Windstream’s internal social collaboration tool.
 HR Support:
  • Completes requested daily/weekly/monthly and ad-hoc reporting for HR leadership.
  • Provides administrative support for electronic onboarding tool.
  • Accepts other tasks as needed.  
 

Desired Background/Skills

  • College degree and 1-3 years professional level experience, preferred.
  • 5+ years professional level related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience, required.
  • PHR/SPHR, preferred.
  • Able to type 55+ words per minute, required.
  • Able to toggle between a PC and desk phone throughout the workday, consistently typing and using a headset, required.
  • Strong general PC skills including MS Office 


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  

College degree and 1-3 years professional level experience; or 5+ years professional level related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
