Responsible for managing the construction of OSP Work Orders from cradle to grave.

Resolves any construction issues related to permits, materials, design, etc.

Review and actively manage the Construction Contractor’s work schedule. Coordinate construction of facilities with other utilities and governmental agencies. Directs, monitors and manages all work orders after engineering complete. Ensures time lines are met for all types of work such as FttP, FttT GPON, Fixed Wireless, Lunar, Road Moves, etc.

Designated point of contact for construction questions/issues from other Windstream departments, utilities, governmental agencies and the public.

Verifies that the Construction Contractor is in-compliance with all laws, rules, practices and procedures as promulgated by OSHA, NESC, NDOT and any other governmental entity that has jurisdiction over the work.

Conducts in-progress and final inspections of construction work to ensure compliance with the work order specs, contract units and Windstream practices. Buried, aerial and underground inspection forms are provided and should be used for this function.

Completes work order reconciliation which includes:

1. Comparing as-built information to invoice
2. Review all account coding for accuracy
3. Verify redline information for correctness
4. Ensuring all applicable milestone dates are populated in JobTrac
5. Routing Change Order forms per company practice as necessary

6. Ensuring work order closing packages have all the required documents

Setting up MOPS for low/high risk fiber splicing where it ties into existing plant.

Ensuring commercial A/C power applications, inspections and construction is being done in a timely manner for Lunar and other Rapid Deployment initiatives that require commercial A/C power.

Ride out jobs with contractor prior to construction to eliminate any construction mistakes.

Complete material inventory on Lunar and any other initiatives where Windstream orders the material.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 
College degree in Engineering or a related field and 0-2 years professional level experience; or 4 years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
