Position Purpose:

We are seeking a dynamic, consultative HR Business Partner to help us develop and grow the HRBP function at Windstream. The HR Business Partner will build a strategic partnership between HR and business unit leaders to help them achieve their business goals.

The HR Business Partner will build relationships with business unit leaders and develop in depth knowledge of the business, to serve as an HR resource who can help align organizational goals across the company.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic and trusted advisor to organization leaders supporting and influencing the overall Human Capital agenda for their organization.
  • Partner with organization leaders on communication planning to foster a culture of continuous 2-way communication.
  • Participate in the design and promotion of leadership development as well as implement the leadership development initiatives in assigned organizations.
  • Provide talent management guidance to organization leaders, increasing productivity and retention of high performing associates by aligning talent metrics with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with management on development planning for high potential associates (including compensation, retention, training, experiences, etc.).
  • Work in partnership with the leadership team to build an employee engagement strategy that will impact areas of attention identified in engagement surveys.
  • Build associate morale and loyalty through recognition initiatives.
  • Identify training gaps in specific business units and job roles, and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Assist organization leaders in designing a structure that encourages communication and collaboration, process improvement and efficiency, and a culture of strong internal and external customer service.
  • In partnership with talent acquisition and organizational leaders, design and implement a workforce planning and development strategy to continue to raise the talent level in all areas of the Company and prepare the organization for future Human Capital needs.
  • Effectively manage employee relations within the business unit to include coaching managers in employee conflict management, counseling employees and maintaining a neutral advocacy relationship to promote Open Up interactions.
  • Anticipate, evaluate and communicate needs proactively between HR and the business unit, providing improvement feedback and integrated solutions.
  • Act as an emergency responder

Maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s function, goals and objectives, industry position and competition.  


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  College degree and 2-4 years professional level experience; or 6 years professional level related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
