Principal – Network

Responsible for improving Kinetic customer experience by leveraging advanced technical, automation, and analytics skills towards determining, defining, and driving solutions to complex network challenges. A qualified candidate possesses extensive Engineering and Operating knowledge and understanding of complex telecommunications architectures, including traffic analytics, capacity management and performance statics analysis. Must be able to work closely with Engineering, Business Intelligence, Field Operations, NOC and repair verticals, and IT teams in devising and implementing cost-effective performance improving strategies and solutions. This position will analyze training needs and develop and deliver technical training to technicians of various experience levels.  The successful candidate will have proven experience in telecommunications failure rate analytics and automation within a carrier grade network.  Also works extensively directly with customers and vendor partners to solve complex service issues and ensure long term service stability. 

This position will be responsible for improving the customer experience through expedited resolution and long-term stability via direct customer interaction, automation development, tools improvement, training support and network reliability efforts.

  • Identifying sources of instability through big data analytics
  • Using Perl, PHP, SQL, and other programing languages to automate a carrier network
  • Software development to automate a carrier grade network
  • Leveraging Unix/Linux system knowledge with Zabbix to create automation
  • Utilizing Tableau to provide network and service views 
  • Advanced technical support for TDM, Ethernet, IP, and Waves
  • Meeting established service and network objectives and KPI’s
  • Recommending changes to objectives as network and customer base changes
  • Optimizing SNMP information to create an intelligent network and proactive ticket creation.
  • Defining new technologies, processes, and methodologies to improve customer experience
  • Managing equipment vendors to identify solutions for backbone or customer services.
  • Analyzing fault trends and providing solutions to mitigate.
  • Evaluating and preparing for impacts of new products and service offerings
  • Maintaining configuration standards of access devices
  • Establishing and maintaining documentation of internal processes and procedures
  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with peers in other organizations
  • Preparing documents and automation for equipment settings and procedures
  • Deployment of next generation telecommunications services
  • Training of various levels of personnel within organization

Additional responsibilities:

  • Broad understanding of the network infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of accepted engineering, operating and field service/central office practices.
  • Analyzes and communicates weekly metrics, monthly results, and quarterly, annual projections.
  • Analyzes and communicates risks and opportunities.
  • Develops monitoring processes for all services, network performance, network maintenance, facilities management, and overall network performance/reliability.
  • Assures proper tracking and reporting of network related measurements including network health reports, post-mortem of outages, outage reports, trending reports/analysis, and operating summaries.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Consistent exercising of independent judgement and discretion in matters of significance. 

Job Requirements
