Position Summary: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for ensuring that Windstream facilities and operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements in the areas of environment, employee safety, and transportation safety. This position will primarily support Environmental functions. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.


 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Support compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, industry, and company requirements.
  • Pursue continuous improvement in environmental monitoring and recordkeeping / data management systems to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Ensure all permits, certificates, licenses, and registrations are processed and paid in a timely manner
  • Conduct on-site facility audits/inspections in support of EH&S compliance requirements
  • Support efforts to maintain accurate inventory information for hazardous chemicals at facilities nationwide
  • Participate in the annual review, revision, and submission of EPA Tier II Reports and Emergency Response
  • Perform other duties as required
 Occasional Travel Required (20%)
 


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  

College degree and 1-3 years professional level experience; or 5+ years professional level related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in compliance
  • Database / Records experience
Desired Skills:
  • Excellent Communication Skills – both verbal and written
  • Strong PC skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail
