General Summary:                                                                                             

Employee is responsible for provisioning tasks for basic data and voice services.  Provisioning of advanced configurations and services involving complex routing are not applicable at this position.  The responsibility of this position includes assisting Field Technicians during the installation of basic voice and data services.  
Job Responsibilities                                                              

  • Pre-build configurations on Edge Internet Routers for provisioning of new Internet and WAN services, including database management.
  • Pre-build configurations and assist with installation or removal for all MAC orders.
  • Pre-build Configurations and Turn-up Managed Services products.         
  • Manage, administrate, and take appropriate actions on mail directed to group mailbox per SLA policies.
  • Network Monitoring setup and Administration.
  • Stage CPE Cisco Router configurations for Installation by Field Technicians or Vendors.
  • Manage, administrate, and take appropriate actions on IP requests per IP allocation policies.
  • DNS administration for all customer domain names w/ associated zone files.
  • Complete facility cross-connects for all voice and data services.
  • Assist Field with installation and testing of voice and data services.
Job Objectives:                                                             

  • Manage multiple tasks between provisioning and installation.
  • Maintain control during customer impacting situations.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple installations simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a desire to learn new products / technologies.
Preferred Skills:   
                                                                             

- Technical knowledge is very important.  However, outside of Cisco and VPN, the bulk of the responsibility is ISP relevant and can be learned on the job provided the candidate has a solid technical foundation.  
- The ability to effectively manage multiple projects is probably the most important aspect of the job.  
- The candidate must demonstrate diligence, reliability and a desire to learn new concepts.  

Preferred Qualifications:                         

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Qualified individuals should possess at least 1-2 years LAN/WAN networking experience.
  • Prior Cisco and telecommunications experience is desired.
  • Experience with the below technology/equipment:
    • IP sub-netting and Advanced Routing – BGP, OSPF, IP SLA
    • T1/Fractional T1, Fiber, EFM
    • Cisco Routers CLI
    • Voice Technology
    • Data Technology
    • Internet
    • Integrated
    • Meta Switch, DACs and DMS
    • VoIP - SIP, MGCP
    • Hosted PBX
    • Cloud Service technologies
    • SD-Wan

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  
College degree and 0-2 years related experience or 4 + years equivalent related Engineering/Technical experience or a combination of education and related Engineering/Technical experience required.Desired Qualifications: Ability to stay current with the economical and technological developments in the industry.
