Overview:

As the Product Manager – SD-WAN/SASE you will act as the product owner for the development, management, and maintenance of Kinetic’s edge to cloud, WAN, and security product strategy. You will be responsible for market research, feature/function and platform definition, product roadmaps and lifecycle and the go to market motions for the offerings.  You will be expected to be as comfortable discussing the features and functionality with the sales team and end users are you are with discussing the underlying technology and systems with engineers and developers.

The Product Manager – SD-WAN plans, develops and executes effective prospecting and marketing plans to increase product penetration and ARPU and drives operational excellence to increase the margins and improve the customer experience of all SD-WAN/SASE based offerings. This position leverages technology from partners, internal development, and operational partnerships along with big data and analytics exposed internally and externally to deliver market leading service offerings.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the customer needs and analyze the competitive environment in the converging SD-WAN/SASE market and maintain a go to market plan for the product, pricing, placement, and promotion of the offering
  • Define and provide direction into the activities and priorities for development and operational teams focused on SD-WAN/SASE products.
  • Understand the end user and market requirements in the defined space and document product user stories for the development team
  • Understand the technical capabilities and feature/functionality of the offering and translate for sales/customer consumption
  • Create and prioritize quote to cash epics and user stories, complete with success criteria and testing parameters
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing on the platform, features and functionality and report against the user story success criteria
  • Develop data driven models to drive product growth, prioritize development, and build and maintain product roadmaps
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience as the product manager working in collaborative agile development environments
  • Familiarity and ease of communication in highly technical and (not highly technical) environments
  • Demonstrated understanding of the networking, security, and cloud industries and capabilities
  • Working knowledge of network protocols including Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, NAT/PAT, BGP, MPLS, and OpenFlow
  • Understanding of SD-WAN, SDN and SDN controllers, data plane, control plane, management plans.
  • Understanding of security functions including cloud and premises based stateful firewalls, next generation firewalls, Cloud web Security, Firewall as a service, remote access, zero trust network access, in-line and API cloud access security brokerage
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred, in Business, Marketing, Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing product direction to high performing teams
  • 3 years’ experience in Network or IT services technical product management or equivalent experience in an Engineering or Sales Engineering capacity in a technology provider environment
  • Experience in defining go to market activities for existing logo and new logo acquisition
  • Experience in Networking, SD-WAN, Application Optimization, Network Based Firewall, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, and other network and security functionality.
