About this Role:

The objective of the Accountant II is to report Windstream revenue as accurately as possible given various supporting documents supplied from other departments, and data that can be queried. Value is added through the identification of efficiency opportunities, injection of innovation ideas, data analytics, and timely issue resolution. This role has oversight and management of revenue and expense reporting to include but not limited to accruals, deferrals, periodic true ups, write-offs, receivables management, payment tracking, and reclassification based on set or changing business rules.

What You’ll Do:

    Facilitate month-end grid analysis and presentation of financials to Controller. Collaborate with members of the business dependent on revex reporting. Support Staff Manager by receiving and owning delegated projects. Maintain compliance with balance sheet reconciliation policy. Timely preparation of month-end journal entries to include adjusting entries when necessary. Review and submit internal and external audit requests when due. Assist in problem-solve activities and simplification of recurring processes.
Do You Have:

    Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges. Ability to communicate with management regularly. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Microsoft Excel) A positive and constructive attitude. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across the business. Problem-solving and root cause identification skills. Strong accounting and MS Excel background required. Ability to examine journal entry application and apply GAAP principles to aid in the most accurate financial reporting possible given the information relied on. Data analysis skills to include SQL query creation/modification/simplification. Ability to challenge existing procedure and create positive change. Experience with timely analysis/resolution of high-priority issues.

The starting compensation range for this job is $50,000 to $64,300.
