About the Role:
We are hiring a dynamic, innovative Trainer to deliver Outside Plant (OSP) Construction installation and equipment training to our Kinetic Engineering and Construction organization using a variety of training approaches including face to face and webinar delivery. A blended training approach is used to deliver field training on equipment and construction best practices including OSP Aerial, Underground, and Buried design principles. As well as Manager and Engineer training on OSP practices. The Trainer is responsible for suggesting, developing, and implementing new training approaches as well as identifying and resolving training gaps. This role is part of a dynamic team that reports to the Director of Optimization and Training.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan, develop, deliver, and follow up on new hire training that includes current construction installation and equipment standards and practices.
- Deliver classroom and field training on underground and aerial plant systems, to include working aloft, Pole Top Rescue, Confined Space, and copper/fiber splicing.
- Perform job site safety visits to ensure adherence to Kinetic Safety Policies and inspect work based upon Kinetic’s quality assurance standards.
- Plan, deliver, and follow up on training requirements including leadership and performance management skills, goal setting process and tools, and facilitation and training skills for Construction Managers, Inspectors, and Engineers.
- Plan and deliver a prepared Red Cross CPR/First Aid course for new and existing Construction personnel. Requires obtaining and maintaining Red Cross certifications in Adult CPR/First Aid and Adult CPR/First Aid Trainer.
- Assist in content development by identifying, creating, and maintaining training courses. This includes, but is not limited to, suggesting new products, acting as a subject matter expert, reviewing/implementing developed training materials, and developing/maintaining training materials for the assigned program.
Do You Have?
- Knowledge of telecom systems, OSP construction installation practices, products, and processes
- Intermediate skill level of MS Office products.
- Excellent coaching skills, strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, self-motivation, energetic and engaging personality.
- Ability to develop, facilitate and adapt presentations with a skillful approach to breaking down concepts and tasks into relatable information.
- Experience using adult learning concepts to deliver training.
- Attention to detail and ability to take ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and conduct productive meetings.
- Ability to travel up to 25% and up to 2 weeks at a time with flexible work hours
- ollege degree and 1-3 years professional level experience; or 5+ years professional level related experience in OSP Construction.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CDL/DOT certifications.
Even Better:
- Recent Construction Experience in the current or related field.
- Equipment operator Experience.
- Recent or Current CDL/DOT certifications.
- OSP Telecomm Engineering (Aerial, Buried, and Underground) experience.
- Must have experience with copper and fiber splicing to include mass fusion splicing (ribbon fiber).
