Quality Control Manager

About the Role:

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) will report to the Regional President and be responsible for driving improvement in Regional Work Quality and Standards. This position will collaborate with Local Managers and the Operations Efficiency Consultants to identify areas needing improvement and will utilize high performing technicians to assist others who may be struggling. This position requires 25-50% travel throughout the regions. The measurement of success would be reducing trouble tickets and repeats on our products and services. Duties include monitoring and analyzing reports, visiting various markets throughout the region and discussing improvement opportunities with Local Managers and Directors OCMs will also conduct field inspections to evaluate needs and success of the program. Candidate’s leadership will be pivotal in maintaining operational efficiency, fostering a collaborative environment, and contributing to the overall success of our field operations. Candidate’s expertise in operations management will significantly impact on our team's success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with the Regional Presidents, Directors, Local Managers, OECs and Field Technicians to improve Quality and Craftsmanship.
  • Monitor Regional Repeat Reports, Birth Certificate, VQAs to search out opportunities for individual improvements.
  • Visit markets within the Region as needed to do field inspections to determine technicians who need to be assigned a mentor to improve quality and craftsmanship. Conference with the Local Managers in these areas to gain agreement in techs put into the project.
  • Track target markets and technicians post project to ensure improvements are sustained.
  • Provide constant reports back to the Regional President and team on weekly progress.
  • Reduce Regional Trouble Tickets by 100 per month using the technician mentoring project.

Do You Have?

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate and engage with team members and cross-functional departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of operations, with a focus on optimizing efficiency and driving results.
  • Proficient in analyzing data to make informed decisions, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain focused and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, consistently performing required duties within specified timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the capability to interpret complex information and provide actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of optimizing operations, implementing efficiency measures, and enhancing overall team performance.
  • College degree or 5-7 years related experience.

Even Better:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of OSP engineering and familiarity with JobTrac.
  • Proficiency in using OFS, WinCare, DSI, Power BI and Winbuy applications.
  • Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards in the telecommunications sector.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Effective presentation skills and experience in communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Minimum Requirements: College degree and 5-7 years professional level experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or 9+ years related technical and/or telephony experience; or an equivalent combination of education and technical level related experience required. This is a safety sensitive position.
