About the Role:

As a Material Manager on the Kinetic engineering and OSP construction team you are responsible for the day-to-day operations of multiple construction yards within a geographic region. This includes but is not limited to the management of labor resources, inventory levels, capacity and volume issues, maintaining and meeting required service levels of operation and the overall accuracy of recorded Windstream inventory assets. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Logistics and works closely with the Materials Coordinators and Engineering and Construction leadership to ensure appropriate inventory levels are met and maintained to ensure projects stay on track for completion within the expected timeframe.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage a workforce of hourly Materials Coordinators to ensure adherence to all policies and practices in assigned construction yards.
  • Manage expectations for cycle counting to ensure entire warehouse is counted weekly.
  • Maintain daily metrics of all construction yard operations and review actual metrics to applied standards for the operations.
  • Coach and develop Material Coordinators to maintain a clean and organized facility.
  • Work closely with Sr Director Logistics and other related departments to provide solutions to challenges which may be cost prohibitive.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory at each location, research and resolve discrepancies and correct the inventory system.
  • Work closely with purchasing teams to ensure the prompt replenishment of inventory.
  • Monitor staged materials, initiate transfer of materials between yards to ensure timely completion of projects.

Do You Have:

  • Ability to respectfully and effectively communicate, build trust and lead a successful team.
  • Experience working with warehouse or inventory management systems and MS Office, especially Excel, to perform daily duties.
  • Strong collaboration skills, an appreciation for teamwork and the ability to learn from others.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • College degree and 4-6 years professional level experience with 1-3 years supervisory experience; or 8+ years professional level related experience with 1- 3 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
