Responsibilities:
  • Technical liaison between 3rd party providers and Allworx (i.e. Marketing, Q/A, R&D, Sales, Support etc). 
  • Responsible for all aspects of 3rd party interoperability testing including evaluation of hardware/software, test case development and execution, documentation and training, test environment configuration and maintenance. 
  • Work with outside OEM/ODM engineering groups when evaluating hardware/software to be marketed and sold under the Allworx brand, to ensure compliance with Allworx specified system requirements.   
  • Provide Training and Support of Allworx Sales Engineering on the proper implementation of Allworx products and supported third party services/applications to allow the Sales Engineers to better train the partners in the field. 
  • Provide Training and Support for the Allworx Customer Support team on in depth troubleshooting of field related issues. 
  • Collect and document data for issues arising from the field deployment of Allworx servers, VoIP phones and client applications.
Secondary
  • Act as 4th level Customer Support when field issues have been escalated 
  • Assist our Quality Assurance Team in special QA testing and/or projects related to expertise as needed.
  • Travel to third party test locations when testing cannot be performed at Allworx Corp 
  • Assist Product Engineering evaluating our hardware and software during field trials (Beta programs)
  • Assist with IT management of our internal lab computer network
  • Available resource for special assignments/ projects as needed by the organization within the scope of this position’s skillset.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

College degree in Engineering or a related field and 2-4 years professional level experience; or 6+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

  • 4+ years of professional level related Engineering/Technical experience in a telephony environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with Network Protocol Analysis tools and assessment.

  • Must understand VoIP technologies, including Protocols (with a thorough understanding of SIP), Codecos, QoS, MPLS, RTP streams; detailed working knowledge in major networking protocols and architectures, routers, firewalls and switches.

  • Solid knowledge of IP telephony, data networking, and unified communications.

  • Practical hands-on expertise with telephony and third-party products in two or more of these technology spaces is required.

  • Existing in depth knowledge of all technical aspects of the Allworx product line.


Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Allworx family of products.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project applications
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently with little or no expert guidance.
  • May be expected to guide or train other staff on operation of equipment or configurations of the Allworx equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead interactions with 3rd parties, sales, services, and end customers
  • Certificates/ Licenses: - A+, MSCE certification, - Network +, CCNA, CCNP certification.
