Windstream is searching for an experienced and responsible site acquisition professional to be a subject matter expert for the Fixed Wireless broadband team. The position will work with internal employees and contractors to support all aspects of the fixed wireless network.

  • Vendor management.
  • Completion of site candidate identification packages, A&E site design walks and other site/field visits with RF Engineering, Zoning, Construction Project Management and A&E departments as required.
  • Negotiation of lease, amendment, license, right-of-way and/or easement agreements with property owners.
  • Completion of leasing packages and other documentation as required.
  • Researching and obtaining information regarding all applicable planning, zoning codes, and regulations affecting the development of a site.
  • Maintaining complete documentation related to all planning, communications, and actions on sites.
  • Maintain service documentation, logs, and trouble tickets.
  • Must effectively interface and provide support to other local departments such as planning, construction, implementation, and operations.
  • Provide both oral and written reports to senior management of status of deployments.
  • Survey and analyze best practices for techniques and processes.
  • Process and procedure definition and documentation of best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • College degree and 10 years’ professional level experience related to Fixed Wireless/Network Engineering/technical experience with 5 years of site acquisition experience and 3-4 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience desired.
  • Demonstrated leadership and understanding of site acquisition process and real estate and zoning laws.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to comprehend legal documents such as, but not limited to, legal descriptions, surveys, ground leases, easements, deeds, land purchase contracts, mortgages, title policies and CAD drawings.
  • Ability to provide quality audits for project and site-specific documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills; must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with customers, co-workers, and representatives of other agencies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, phone and people skills.
  • 75% or less travel.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
