Overall Responsibility: 


The Senior Analyst, Reporting and Analysis serves as the department’s day to day contact for complex, ad-hoc and recurring data requests related to Interconnect Expense. This person also plays an active role in the month end close process, assisting accounting with variance analysis to determine the business drivers behind the monthly change in cost, and providing month-end reports.

 
Key areas of Responsibility:
  • Supports the Invoice Receipt/Quality, Invoice Processing, and Process/Project Management teams. 
  • Participates in cross-functional special projects that require expense information and analysis.
  • Reviews daily reports for changes in cost or coding, and accuracy of reporting, and reports any unusual findings.
  • Interfaces with the Company’s Line Cost system service provider to update, add to, or modify information and reports as necessary to meet data and reporting information requests.
  • Assists with updating the provisioning inventory to support the G/L coding process.
  • Works closely with Accounting team to assist with the reconciliation of accruals vs. actuals, and providing specific month-end accrual reports.
  • Provides constant constructive communication within the team to facilitate and foster continuous process improvement.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry, preferably in the areas of financial analysis, network planning, provisioning, or engineering.
  • High proficiency in the use of MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong research and analytical skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
  • Ability to work in and adapt quickly to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to respond to multiple concurrent assignments with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and complete responsibilities with little supervision, yet work well in a team-oriented culture.
  • Knowledge of Business Objects reporting software and SQL preferred.
  • Understanding of accounting processes and procedures preferred.
  • Variance analysis experience preferred.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

College degree and 3-5 years professional level experience with 1+ years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 7+ years professional level related experience with 1+ years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
