This is currently a work from home opportunity that will likely be moved to a local in-office call center position later, at the discretion of management.

About the Role:

Windstream’s team of Specialist I- Transport Technicians are vital team members who represent our leading telecommunications brand that connects Wholesale, small business, enterprise and carrier partners across the United States. Our team of Transport Technicians assists with the management, operational support, and troubleshooting for all on/off net DS1 to OC192, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, wholesale customer data and transport services. Also works with wholesale customers to ensure their services are restored.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Working with LEC’s, IXC’s, vendors, internal departments, and customers to successfully troubleshoot impairments and outages as required. 
  • Utilize Remedy ticketing system for documentation, escalations and Field Operations Dispatches.   
  • Follow prescribed escalation (internal/external) polices within SLAs  
  • Accept escalations as provided by Management. 

 Do You Have?
  • 1 –4 years telecommunications industry
  • Networking or customer service experience 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access & Microsoft Visio. 
  • Ability to quickly learn complex troubleshooting techniques  
  • Ability to understand processes and procedures
  • High School Degree or GED equivalent 

Even Better: 

  • Understanding of the OSI model
  • Juniper/Cisco Router experience
  • CCNA or JNCIA preferred but not required

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  

High School diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years technical/telephony experience. Associates Degree in technical discipline preferred. College hours or a college degree may be substituted for some experience as deemed appropriate.
