The Risk & Claims Analyst investigates, evaluates, and monitors basic to moderate level of claims, including Worker’s Compensation, Auto,General Liability and other product lines.  The primary business outcome for this position is to minimize costs and exposures.

  • Triage all first reports of injuries and communicate specific details with the claims administrator, injured worker, and internal company contacts.
  • Respond to claims administrator requests and coordinate efforts between injured workers, claims adjusters, benefits/HR, and field operations to facilitate prompt return to work and claim closure.
  • Follow up on medical treatment (Return to Work) documentation and provide guidance to field operations regarding temporary work status and both internal and off site modified duty tasks and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to injury accommodation and leave policies and manage expected return to work dates.
  • Coach and provide guidance to field management on Workers' Compensation and claims reporting procedures and follow up to ensure timely accident reporting of any associate or customer injury or accident.
  • Provide the department with follow up and support on correspondence, analytical reports, claim related data, communications and documentation. Analysis of monthly loss reports to assess financial impact and prepare monthly metrics reporting.  Verification of claims invoicing from TPA and Carriers.
  • Participate in Claims Roundtables and Conference Claim Reviews either off site, in person or telephonically.
  • Back-up for monitoring risk email inbox, Certificate of Insurance issuance, and other duties as assigned.

  • Experience working with Worker's Compensation claims in a multi-state environment or claims environment preferred.  However, candidates with strong analytical, communication, and proven aptitude to learn may be considered.
  • Ability to understand and use insurance, claim related terms, Litigation, and casualty lines of coverage experience a plus.
  • Microsoft Office programs; specifically, advanced Excel skills (testing may be administered), Outlook, and Word
  • Strong planning, organizational skills, possess proficient analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrate capacity for gathering and scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
  • Expected travel <10%

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  

College degree and 1-3 years professional level experience; or 5+ years professional level related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
