Works within the Engineering team to track overall project statuses, gather updates from team members, identify risk in schedules, and report on overall progress and project health.  Administer certain programs within Engineering related to internships and employee morale.  Candidate must be able to multi-task, communicate effectively, and be proficient with use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Supports program/project manager and other project leaders in driving overall project plan, implementation and other project activities. Serves as back-up for the project manager on larger projects/programs.  May manage multiple project parts concurrently; may independently manage small projects with limited scope.

 

Practices good tactical project management skills based on PMI best practices. Is familiar with Agile, Scrum and Waterfall development methodologies.

 
Initiating:
 

Demonstrates proper use of project management principles and the application thereof.  Proficient in project management methodology as defined by PMI and solution development lifecycle.

 
Planning:
 

Effectively participates in the definition, organization and planning of project schedules to meet required project timeframes. Has participated in the estimation of moderately complex projects.  Works closely with project managers to ensure proper resource allocation to the project.

 
Executing:
 

Successfully managed parts of a project concurrently under the direction of a project manager.

 
Monitoring/Controlling:
 

Has effectively managed a schedule for a moderately complex project under the direction of another project manager while demonstrating a working knowledge and application of standard PM metrics. Has effectively led change management for a moderately complex project under the direction of another project manager. Assists in managing risk and issues of the project.

 
Closing:
 

Assists the program/project manager in all close out activities. Responsible for close out documentation and archival.

 
Communication:
 

Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills.  Demonstrates good presentation skills. Prepares and presents project updates to the appropriate internal and client personnel.  Consistently communicates project status in accordance with documented PPM guidelines under the direction of a program/project manager.

 
Leadership:
 

Demonstrates confidence and optimism. Proactively resolves issues and makes recommendations.

 

Tools:  Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio

 
Preferred:
 

1 to 3 years business and/or IT/Engineering experience


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: College degree and 0-2 years professional level experience; or 4+ years professional level related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
