About the Role

The Windstream Consultant will be part of the Process Transformation team and will be responsible for leading initiatives while analyzing and improving the processes for migration, implementation, optimization and consolidation of our telecommunications network. This position is expected to work with senior network engineers on various technical projects including but not limited to network consolidation and integration, network and application lifecycle analysis, site renovations and relocations as well as network related process improvement and conslidation. The Consultant will lead process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma) while using network and customer data to inform improvement initiatives.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage initiatives in partnership with Engineering to consolidate and simplify our network
  • Analyze and recommend process changes to improve complex technical problems relating to the installation and upgrade of network hardware and systems
  • Provide technical expertise and assist with network integration and consolidation efforts across multiple network environments
  • Interface with customers, vendors and other technical staff to analyze business and technical processes and associated data
  • Utilize current and emerging network architectures and process improvements on assigned projects

Do You Have: 

  • Knowledge of SDWAN, Ethernet, and MPLS
  • Knowledge of legacy and modern network operations a plus.
  • Experience in a telecommunication service provider
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate and negotiate across all levels throughout the organization, including at the executive level.
  • Previous experience in network operations or engineering also desired.
  • Proficient in BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau to analyze and visualize data.  Advanced Excel and PowerPoint Skills and experience with a variety of network platforms and devices preferred.
  • Previous telecom industry and working experience utilizing business process methods such as Lean Six Sigma, eTOM, or other process frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills in addition to the ability to effectively manage and prioritize individual projects and tasks.
  • You will report to the Director – Process Development.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:College degree in a Technical or related field and 5-7 years professional level experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 9 years professional level related Technical experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience required.
