Job Functions:

  • Develop Engineering  Detail packages on per project basis
  • Publish detailed network diagrams in response to service orders
  • Manage capital budgets and service delivery dates
  • Provide support to various internal departments
  • Prepare Request for Proposals/Quotes (RFP/RFQ) to vendors and contracted services, manage Turf vendors. 
  • Oversee EF&I Projects
  • Write detailed Methods of Procedure (MoPs) for implementation and maintenance activity
  • Provide support to field resources during implementation
  • Troubleshooting of turn-up and in-service systems

Technical and Vendor Background – Familiar with some of the following:

  • Cisco 15454/MX MSTP/MSPP
  • Cisco/Cyan Packet Transport
  • Basic router and switch comprehension
  • Accedian MetroNODE/MetroNID/EtherNID family
  • SONET OCX (OC3, OC12, OC48, OC192)
  • Long Haul transport (ROADM)
  • Passive DWDM/CWDM
  • Ethernet Transport / Ethernet over SONET / Packet Transport/IP Engineering
  • Optelian, Cyan, Transmode, Adtran, Tellabs, Infinera products

Software Knowledge:

  • Microsoft Office Products, including Microsoft Visio
  • Remedy
  • Metasolv
  • Cisco IOS
  • Cisco CTC/CTM
  • Cyan Planet Operate
  • Network Management Systems (EMS)

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:


 C  College degree or 3 + years equivalent related Engineering/Technical experience or a combination of education and related Engineering/Technical experience required        

•        CCNA, MEF, or other professional telecommunications certifications a plus
