This SQL/BI Developer position in Network Business Intelligence will be working in a fun, challenging, fast-paced environment using Agile methodologies to develop SQL logic using prepared datasets from Oracle’s MetaSolv and a variety of Network Element Management Systems/Logical Network Configurations. Our primary charter is in support of automated network diversity initiatives that will enable Windstream to understand logical network configurations and reconcile with the inventory.

Job Responsibilities:

•         Development of the Logical Network Configurations data/SQL Logic to be blended with inventory data, as well as the necessary research and communication required to construct logic for each vendor EMS/ Logical Network Configurations.

•         The blending logic will need to be executed across a variety of vendors, each having their own EMS/ Logical Network Configurations, and will be constructed hierarchically, SONET/Ethernet and WDM configurations.

•         Build relationships and collaborate with internal customers to gather requirements to existing design framework, and manage completeness of the request.

•         Develop BI solutions to compare logical network configurations to service agreements.

•         Building reusable code and libraries for future use.

•         Manage projects through to completion.

•         Manage work through Agile tools/methodology, collaborative repositories, issue tracking platforms, and wikis.

Essential Skills:

•         Strong Oracle SQL experience, DML/DDL (PL-SQL, T-SQL, etc).

•         Experience with Oracle’s MetaSolv Solution (MSS).

•         Networking understanding, including but not limited to REP, GR3, 8032, and 8031.

•         Experience and/or familiarity with various functional areas pertaining to telecommunications networks

•         Experience working with large, disparate data sets.

•         Good team player and communicator

•         Highly organized and meticulous.

•         Self-starter, relentlessly curious, resourceful, collaborative, and inventive.

•         Drive to succeed and improve personally to add value to the role, team, and company.

•         Positivity, and the desire to solve problems in elegant and creative ways.

Desired Skills:

•         Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

•         Experience with any of the following platforms.

•         Tableau

•         JIRA

•         Confluence

•         Fisheye

•         Hadoop

•         Experience with TL1 scripting for logical configurations.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience: 

College degree and 3-5 years experience or 7 + years equivalent related Engineering/Technical experience or a combination of education and related Engineering/Technical experience required.Desired Qualifications: Ability to stay current with the economical and technological developments in the industry.
