Job Description:
  • The Transport NOC MOP Implementation team is responsible for performing provisioning on all Transport Engineering and Outside Plant requests concerning network and customer circuits. Our department will perform grooms, MOPs and change requests from both internal and external customers. Services provisioned consists of DS1 and above up to Wave services. Vendors utilized are Ciena, Infinera, Cisco, Fujitsu and many more.
  • Utilize an automated ticketing and order provisioning systems to record and track resolution of customer issues.
  • Provisioning and turn-up support for customers of the services listed above.
  • Coordinating and scheduling customer turn-ups with the customer, local operations and sales account team.
  • Work is performed in a 24x7 Network Operations Center environment. Candidates must be available to work any shift. Primary responsibilities include support for customers of the services listed above, including turn up and repair, as well as monitoring customer-specific connections to the Windstream Data Network. Network Analysts take customer calls via Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) queue and work with Engineering and Network Operations groups to accomplish customer migrations, network changes, upgrades, and repairs. Other duties/technologies as assigned. 
  • Understanding of national telecommunications standards such as ITU-T G.8032, ITU-T Y.1564, IETF RFC 2544, G.8031, etc…
  • Understanding of various network protocols such as Resilient Ethernet Protocol (REP), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Internet Protocol (IP), etc…
  • Knowledge of IP addressing/subnetting
  • In depth understanding of layer 1 and layer 2 network platforms (e.g., Infinera, Cisco 7600, Cisco 15454, Cisco ME3400, Ciena, Coriant)
  • Basic understanding of OTN technology
  • Ability to perform daily tasks with a variety of computer applications (i.e. Excel, Visio, Word, etc.)
  • Self-motivated, team player
  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to prioritize projects
  • Ability to stay current with the technological developments in the telecommunications industry

  • Work hours 2200-0630 with little to no rotation provide.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 

Associate Degree in a technical discpline and 4-6 years technical/telephony experience with 4+ years directly related to the job; or 7+ years of directly related telephony or network operations experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience required.
