Network Analyst I/II

The successful candidate should possess basic troubleshooting knowledge of IP Networks and equipment to quickly repair / mitigate outage conditions. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to drive issues to resolution.  Technicians will interface via phone, video, chat, and ticketing systems with Windstream technicians, front-line technical reps, and Carrier technicians to resolve issues, mitigate outages, and ensure that all steps are professionally documented.

This role will primarily consist of:

•         Carrier Engagement

•         Circuit Troubleshooting

•         Event Management/Triage

•         Hardware Troubleshooting

•         Network Monitoring

•         Vendor Engagement

 

Desired Education:

4-year degree in a technical discipline (engineering, physics, computer science, etc.)

 

Desired Experience:

2+ years of experience with IT/LAN/WAN in an operations or help-desk environment

OR 1+ years of troubleshooting network elements, protocols, services, and transport layer problems

Desired Qualifications:

•         Excellent communication skills

•         Experience with Cisco, Juniper and Nokia routing platforms

•         Knowledge of central office transport equipment including test methods

•         Knowledge of broadband equipment, protocols, and networking

•         Technical skills in data networking or closely related field

•         Understanding of ISIS protocols and hardware troubleshooting

•         Understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, ATM, Frame Relay and Layer 2 Switching

Certificates/ Licenses:

CCNA, JNCIA, or NRS I desired

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  Associate Degree in a technical discpline and 4-6 years technical/telephony experience with 4 years directly related to the job; or 7 years of directly related telephony or network operations experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience required.
