  • Manage Tier II/III, technical network support, network growth, outage/restoration management for the entire Windstream Transport Network
  • Provide point of escalation for Tier III level support for Transport Network Elements. Coordination support as required for project implementation that provides augmentation or enhancements of existing network elements for responsible technologies
  • Act as liaison between the NOC and other Windstream departments and functional groups to support the network
  • Address and respond to issues where the NOC failed to meet performance objectives and goals in meeting internal and external expectations
  • Provide root cause analysis support for events including engaging vendors as required. 
  • Determine and set technical training curriculum paths and expectations for staff while managing training and travel budget
  • Support integration for acquisitions
  • Provide leadership/coordination and manage support as required to support restoration and event tracking/reporting for wide spread disasters such as Hurricanes, Ice Storms and man made events

Formal training with at least one of the following network elements:

Fujitsu, Cisco, Turin, Sonet (DWDM, CWDM, ROADM), Fiber, Copper
Bundled Devices.


Knowledge in Network Management systems:
CTM, Netsmart, Cyan, Turnin, DACS, Hatteras. Knowledge of OSS
alert systems: Netexpert, Netcool

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

College degree in Engineering or a related field and 5-7 years professional level experience with 0-2 years supervisory experience; or 9+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience with 0-2 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
