Identifies and develops new sales opportunities within the government segment, provides product solutions, ensures customer satisfaction, and maintains positive ongoing relationships to maximize sales for the company. Responsible for the implementation of strategic and tactical sales account plans.


Job Description:

  • Creates and enriches relationships within government accounts to gain strategic positioning as well as retain existing revenue and attain additional business.
  • Ability to relate knowledge of the company's entire product suite.
  • Leads account Sales Team responsibilities including solution creation, solution offering, configuration management, order issuance, service delivery, service management and revenue recognition. Demonstrates a balance of strategic and tactical thought leadership.
  • Develop and close new sales opportunities to meet and exceed established sales and revenue quotas. Develop and execute comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from new and/or existing government accounts.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities to meet or exceed sales quota requirements.
  • Reports to sales management trends and changes taking place within the customer's organization, and makes recommendations about future courses of action necessary to enhance the company’s position with the customer.
  • 5 – 10yrs Government Telecom sales experience.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction.
  • Track record of success selling to government entities identified below.
  • Experience with preferred.
  • Experience in solution selling IP, data, voice, and video network services.
  • Experience in strategic, technical, and business communications application sales.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in selling to the close.
  • Proficient in MS office products: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

College degree or equivalent and 8+ years field sales experience directly related to job (outside, direct sales experience with Govt contracts) or 12+ years job-related field sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education and job-related field sales experience required.
