General Summary:

Implementation Engineering position is responsible for installing and maintaining Avaya Aura UcaaS cloud solution and work with infrastructure to support, test, and verify release new feature changes to the customer Avaya infrastructure. In addition, the engineering position will provide guidance and support for various Avaya Day2 support issues and would be interfacing with customers, partners, and internal Windstream support teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for new product releases and installations, and if necessary, execute product upgrades in the infrastructure.
  • Systems support, integration, testing and product release of the Windstream UcaaS products including, collaborating with partner companies to support solutions and features, executing test plans, working with internal teams to test facilities for product certifications, and help manage the Windstream product development lab/sandbox environments.
  • Communicates with direct report regards to technical discussions and systems maintenance and optimization.
  • Resolving support issues as a result of escalation from the Windstream Avaya Day2 support and other support teams.
  • Coordinating partner and vendor logistics when necessary for data center site support efforts
  • Help with the monitoring the health of the system environment
  • Help with the managing the server product configurations and releases
  • Support transition of all product initiatives to the implementation and Day 2 support teams
  • Development of internal processes to be conformant with corporate best practices

 Preferred Experience:

  • Avaya Communications, Session Manager, and/or ASBCE preferred.
  • MSCE, CCNA, VMware Certifications Desired
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Avaya server configurations, product support, systems integration and supporting product solutions.
  • Systems experience with Microsoft, VMWare, HP, and Cisco networks. In addition, Active Directory, DNS, MSSQL, MySQL, PHP, and Linux Red Hat OS recommended.
  • Support converged networks, IP networking/telephony, security solutions, and virtual environment are required.
  • Hands-on experience configuring Avaya Aura Solution such as CM, Session Manager, ASBCE, CMS and EMC.
  • A current understanding of the methods and practices associated with the Product Development Life Cycle, and product qualification testing
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and strong communication skills with emphasis on the capability to work with customers
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone or with a group with limited supervision. 

Knowledge of industry standards, system deployment techniques, sequential problem solving, unified communications (UC), private branch exchange (PBX), voice over IP (VOIP), session initiation protocol (SIP), and local area networks (LAN) is required. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, engineer at this level can complete job duties of a similar nature, not specifically listed here, with minimal or no direct supervision.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: College degree in Engineering or a related field and 3-5 years professional level experience; or 7+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
