Role Description: 

The Director - Product Development will establish and maintain a strategic vision for a product roadmap and will implement development of new products and product features. 

  • •         Design and implement department plans in-line with corporate strategic objectives 
  • •         Lead innovation processes and product development activities, drive revenue growth from new products and product optimization for existing products
  • •         Oversee process and protocol development, ensure a culture of continuous improvement 
  • •         Lead ongoing evaluation of work processes in product development, product approval, and quality assurance to keep pace with the changing needs of our company and customers 
  • •        Proactively partner with Marketing to develop a forward-looking product development pipeline to address channel and customer goals 
  • •         Develop and present business cases for new product funding
  • •         Prioritize and balance project work based on business partner needs, greatest financial opportunities, technical risks, and key metrics
  • •         Understand company deployment capabilities, create sound commercialization plans
  • •         Lead and manage a small team while building a bench of talent
  • •         Participate in cross functional teams, interface regularly with sales, marketing, operations, engineering, and procurement
  • •         Manage relationships with external partners around innovation and new product development 
  • •         Challenges resource utilization to drive projects that have the biggest value and maximum impact (return on investment) to the company growth objectives


Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a technical understanding and background.
  • 10 years of product development experience required
  • 7 years previous management experience required. 
  • Previous hands on experience in Lean and Six Sigma tools required with proven ability to work in a matrix organization. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of statistics, reliability, sampling, auditing and quality systems such as ISO, QS, and TQM. 

Job Requirements

Desired Qualifications: College degree in a Technical or related field and 10+ years professional level experience with 3-5 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 14+ years professional level related Technical experience with 3-5 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience desired.
