Overview

This role is responsible for leading local marketing efforts targeting small and midsize businesses to achieve superior customer engagement and intimacy that drives demand and builds a positive brand impression for Kinetic Business by Windstream.  Local marketing efforts include planning, development and ongoing management of public/media relations, earned media and speaking engagements, and events and sponsorships. This person will be an integral part of a high-performing marketing team working with and managing third party vendors applying best practices, testing results and performance analysis to generate improved engagement with prospective and existing customers. Critical to this role is to develop a local marketing strategy that is in alignment to our overall brand strategy.

Roles/Responsibilities

This position plays an essential role in the planning, development, coordination and implementation of local marketing initiatives that are designed to improve brand perception and consideration as well as to drive customer acquisition and retention with existing and prospective customers.

•         Develop the strategy, planning and execution of local marketing initiatives including public/media relations, earned media and speaking engagements, event planning and sponsorships to be closely aligned to the brand strategy.

•         Manage the ongoing coordination of agencies, Field Sales and Operations teams and/or other internal stakeholders leading the daily coordination of projects.

•         Lead cross-functional, highly-matrixed teams with the ability to identify and anticipate issues and opportunities that may impact performance.

•         Communicate project status to Executive and other internal stakeholders to drive accountability.

•         Develop reporting to communicate status and performance as well as to provide recommendations and/or action plans for modifications to improve performance.

•         Provide copywriting and editing expertise that enhances the overall message and improves engagement.

•         Develops and maintains comprehensive budgets by market and by project with fiscal responsibility applied.

•         Establish regular performance review windows against established KPI and ROI criteria.

•         Capture local market needs and marketplace issues/opportunities and formulate action plans integrating acquisition, base, media and retention initiatives.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements


College degree and 8 years professional level experiencewith 3-4 years supervisory experience; or 12 years professional level relatedexperience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combinationof education and professional level related experience required.

Preferred Experience

•        Expertise in local and/or field marketing, acquisition or basemarketing

•        Proficiency in strategicgo-to-market planning and brand communications across customer touchpoints(both offline and online)

•        Demonstrated proficiencyin project management within a time-sensitive environment

•        Ability to managemultiple project timelines and ensure delivery within time and budgetconstraints

•        Expertise in leveraging business insights into effective marketingcommunications strategies with the ability to anticipate and address issues andopportunities

•        Ability to project manage details as well as to identifydependencies that may thwart success

•        Experience working with senior level business owners to presentaction plans and results

•        Experience in vendor management

•        Experience in matrix management of a cross-functional team ofcontributors

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)

•        B2B marketing experience, preferably in the telecom or technologyindustries
