About the Role:

The Property Accountant will be focused primarily on maintaining fixed asset records through capital job closings into the ledger and preparation of prepaid maintenance schedules and recons.  The employee will also have other responsibilities such as process review and documentation and asset retirement projects. The Accountant will also manage the preparation of monthly recons and variance analysis, support external and internal audit requests, query and reporting development, and other special projects.   

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and improve relationships with Operations and Engineering contacts.
  • Work closely with IT to develop asset and variance queries and reporting capabilities.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries.
  • SME on prepaid agreements and maintaining prepaid expense reconciliation.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis for Engineering and Enterprise groups.
  • Simplify and interpret mass amounts of data into summarized formats for discussion.
  • You will report to the Staff Manager - Finance.

Job Requirements

Do You Have:

  • College degree in Accounting and/or Finance and 1-3 years professional level experience.
  • Strong understanding and experience with application of accounting theory.
  • Knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls including accounts payable, fixed assets, procurement, property tax, and inventory.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and willingness to research and resolve accounting application.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and JDEdwards.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, and management, to maximize. performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
  • Proactive, flexible, independent, inquisitive, and enthusiastic.

  • 5 years professional level related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience.
