Position Summary:


The Carrier Account Manager works to build and maintain strong and meaningful business relationships with their assigned account base while proactively up-selling new products and services to ultimately increase revenue of our current client base.  Client interaction will be frequent, primarily over the phone. The Carrier Account Manager contributes to Windstream Carrier’s success by increasing customer satisfaction, retention and revenue growth.



  • Achieve revenue growth objectives by increasing revenues within current base: Research, develop, and grow assigned customer base by product and network upgrades, cross-sells, and adding additional/new services. Continually inform customers about new services and the benefits they bring to their business
  • Achieve outlined monthly quota targets
  • Stay engaged with customers to deepen relationships and recognize new opportunities through a regular proactive call schedule
  • Work collaboratively with Account Executive by quoting and pitching new products to customers together
  • Onboard customers to Windstream portals and internal operating systems
  • Train customers on portal and offer guidance on product and process inquiries
  • Adhere to current Windstream policies, procedures and programs, and demonstrate the Windstream values at all times

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • 5+ years Telecom or Internet industry experience
  • 3-5 years customer service, account management and base & direct sales experience a must. (Wholesale or Carrier Service experience preferred.)
  • Customer Relationship management skills including demonstrated ability to display a strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to travel
  • Must be able to pass background check including MVR
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (word, excel, power point, etc.)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • High level of self-initiative
    • High performance orientation; has a “Raise the bar” mentality, constantly striving to reach new levels of performance
    • Well organized with a high level of attention to detail
    • Ability to sell into existing customer base and proven quota attainment success
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and perform other basic physical demands of the position as needed.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: 


Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent job experience
