**Remote Position

General Overview:  This is a high-level Wholesale sales position being established to target specific customer segments Windstream Wholesale has not yet pursued.  This role will require a high focus on prospecting, which would demand a moderate travel schedule.  Some existing accounts will be provided to the new hire to work, but daily focus and performance measurement will be primarily on bringing Windstream new buying relationships within the targeted Customer Segments outlined below.  The role will require understanding customer networks, proposing solutions, negotiating deal structures, selling Services, and resolving escalated day to day customer issues.  Communication with with the most senior individuals internally at Windstream, and within customer’s organizations will frequently be an occurrence.


Customer Segment Targets:  Online Media, Entertainment, Video Studios, Hollywood, Online Broadcasting, Online Gaming, AI, Big Data, Hyperscale, Cloud Computing, Social Media, Data Centers, Online Advertising, CDN, SaaS, Web Collaboration, and IoT.


Experience Requirements:  Broad telecom industry experience and knowledge with core focus on Wholesale Transport.  Helping customers meet network needs, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies via knowledge of, and selling:  Network Diversity, Data Center Connectivity, Wavelengths, Spectrum, Dark Fiber, Cloud, Transport, Backbone, Fiber, DWDM, Internet, IP, Ethernet, MPLS, Waves, PTP, Transport, E-Access, Colocation, and sometimes SIP and VOIP. 

Preferred Experience:  Existing relationships with, and experience selling into the above listed Customer Segment Targets.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

College degree or equivalent and 7 years professional experience with 5+ years directly related to the job (3+ years of CLEC or 5+ years selling voice/data/communications equipment); or 11+ years professional level equivalent related experience; or a combination of education and related professional level experience required.
