This Staff Manager, Learning & Development position is responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring a team that will focus primarily on improving the skill levels of our customer facing sales teams by delivering training content through a variety of venues. 

This team will work with our customers to identify areas of potential development, review intake requests for training, and prioritize the delivery of training content to a variety of customer facing audiences including Retail, National Agents, Door to Door, Field Sales, Account Managers, Call Centers, Care, Consumer Retention, RIS, and others as they develop.

The Staff Manager will be responsible for approval of training projects, prioritization of work among the team, coordination of all training resources and events, and ensuring the quality of the trainings meet L and D requirements and the expected outcomes are realized. 

Essential Functions:

  • Staff the team effectively and ensure staff is compensated accurately, is challenged in their position, and is encouraged to grow
  • Analyze feedback from trainings delivered to identify future opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate all Learning programs including Field Sales growth programs, new-hire programs (Flight Plan), Continuing Education for Pilot (CEP) to ensure effective design and appropriate coverage to ensure that growth objectives are achieved
  • For all training projects accepted, define clear outcomes and to ensure that the expected outcomes are realized and provide reporting to leadership as necessary
  • Immediate focus areas

    • Revised RIS training
    • Revise Field Sales onboarding program (Flight Plan)
    • Formalize and Operationalize Field Sales growth initiatives including Business Executive and Sr Business Exec) and improving the onboarding experience
    • Ensure CEP (Continuing Education for Pilots) is effective and sufficiently resourced
    • Complete Training Development matrix for Field Sales
    • Coordinate all training events across the business
  • Define success metrics and reporting requirements
  • Maintain ownership of initiative quality and success
  • Provide recurring leadership updates
  • Partner with other organizations as needed
  • Lead, guide, develop and mentor team members

Job Requirements

Desired Qualifications:  

College degree and 8 years professional level experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or 12 years professional level related experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience desired.
