The Windstream IT Product Factory scrum master will lead a self-organizing scrum team charged with implementing a roadmap developed and maintained by the product owner.  A successful candidate will have a proven record of forming a highly functional scrum team that is focused on continuous improvement and developing industry leading best practices in agile software development.  The scrum master will work closely with the development team, quality assurance testers and the product owner to deliver an industry leading user experience for the dedicated platform the team is charged with.  The individual’s role requirements will include daily standups, team scrum calls, refinement sessions, retrospectives and active participation in scrum of scrums.  The scrum master will also need to support the scrum team in some IT software analysis calls to help drive out requirements within user stories that may or may not cross functional scrum teams/areas within IT.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the scrum team in leveraging agile methodologies and scrum best practices
  • Helping the product owner and development team to achieve a best-in-class user experience
  • Meet cross-functionally to drive solutions that require more than one scrum team
  • Drive the team to self-organization and continuous improvement
  • Remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments
  • Help the scrum continuously improve agile methodologies
  • Resolve conflicts and issues that occur within the team
  • Drive scrum maturity within and across the organization
  • Support the product owner and provide education where needed

Skills Required

  • Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
  • Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the scrum
  • Ability to determine what is scrum and what is not
  • Experience with successful agile techniques
  • Ability to work with and lead a team
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction

Experience Required

  • Prior experience on a scrum team is highly encouraged
  • Proven ability to design and implement new processes
  • Previous software analysis experience is beneficial
  • Data mgmt./analysis experience is beneficial
  • Experience with telecom processes preferred
  • A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
