About the Role:     



Windstream Enterprise is looking for a seasoned communications professional to lead Strategic Communications including Analyst Relations, Public Relations, and Internal Communications. The ideal candidate possesses extensive media relations and analyst experience, top tier media relationships, and is an expert communicator adept at translating complex technology concepts into stories people want to hear and can understand. They are also collaborative and creative, working closely with teammates both internally and externally.



The Sr. Director AR/PR and Internal Communications partners across the business and provides strategic counsel to our business leaders related to media and analyst communications situations and internal communications strategies. This person will frequently be called on to be at the center of a cross-functional team working on a project basis, and will help manage significant events including roadshows, interviews, and media and analyst gatherings.  This individual is also accountable for identifying and delivering market and competitive insights to the organization, sourced from the same analyst firms.



This role requires constant collaboration with various teams across the business including Enterprise Product Management and Development, Enterprise Sales, Corporate Communications, Sales Operations, and all other functional areas within the Enterprise Marketing team. 



This is an engaging and hands-on role and the Sr. Director Enterprise AR/PR and Internal Communications, reporting to the VP of Strategic Marketing, is an individual who excels while operating at the strategic and the tactical level.



This role is highly visible and will have direct interaction with Windstream’s C-Suite executive team as well as executives across the industry.



This role is a full-time, remote-working position with less than 25% travel.





What You’ll Do:                 




  • Lead a team of 3+ seasoned Marketing Communications professionals

  • Collaborate with the entire Marketing and Product Management team to source the content required for communications

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with business and technology journalists and analysts

  • Regularly interact with Windstream Corporate Communications to develop and communicate Windstream Enterprise’s top stories and strategic messages

  • Work closely with agency partners to execute strategic initiatives

  • Manage complex and unexpected communications challenges with high-judgment and professionalism

  • Lead the drafting and editing press releases, bylined articles, AR decks, blogs, pitches, and communications plans

  • Support the development and execution of internal and externally focused events and meetings designed to deliver information to each audience (e.g. analyst relations summit, internal all-hands meetings)

  • Create content regularly to grow the company’s messaging footprint (press releases, corporate announcements)

  • Collaborate with senior team members, including executives, to craft and pitch press releases and thought leadership columns

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and developing a command of the relevant subject matter

  • Source, curate and distribute market and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders to inform decisions

  • Encourage company-wide success through active and consistent support of all efforts to simplify and enhance the client experience

  • Perform additional duties as assigned





Do You Have?                    




  • Undergraduate degree

  • 10+ years related professional-level experience

  • 5+ years leadership experience Marketing or Strategic Communications

  • Engaging communicator with large audiences

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel

  • Existing relationships with the media and analyst community, ideally in telecommunications, software, IT or technology sectors

  • Strong understanding demonstrated success with internal and external communications strategy
