About the Role: As the Senior Director, Content Marketing and Strategy, you will lead our content marketing and editorial team at to produce compelling, relevant content that supports thought leadership, engagement, traffic, and drive acquisition as well as customer retention.

You are a creative marketing and content professional with a strong writing background, excellent story-telling skills, and extensive experience developing content throughout a full marketing funnel that appeals to your target audience. You will have a keen sense of the messages, stories, engagement models, and tactics that make sense with different audiences, roles, and levels.

You are passionate about leading teams, have a working knowledge of SEO to drive an optimized content experience, and excel at working cross functionally to build and execute complex content strategies.

You are data-minded and can construct and evolve a measurement framework to connect content to pipeline.

This role will report into the VP, Strategic Marketing and will advise a team of strategic content and editorial writers as you build a comprehensive editorial calendar alongside established writing teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strengthen the messaging and positioning associated with this portion of the product portfolio, across all verticals
  • Invest in the knowledge and efficacy of our sellers, across all channels associated with all parts of the product portfolio
  • Support Product Managers working in a business problem/solution framework
  • Develop and lead marketing plans for new and existing initiatives - Including setting goals and objectives, product messaging, designing and recommending awareness, demand generation and sales enablement activities.
  • Develop positioning, buyer personas and targeted messaging and value prop that differentiates Windstream's products and solutions in the market.
  • Develop content strategy and collaborate with content development team and agency to create compelling, relevant differentiated content
  • Accelerate inbound leads for sales through content development supporting awareness tactics including a digital strategy, content syndication, analyst relations, PR, Social through collaboration with marketing stakeholders and agency resources
  • In collaboration with Marketing, Events and Campaign Management teams, help design and execute demand gen and event strategy, including email campaigns, direct mail, events and webinars, response and lead management, and SLAs
  • Design and execute sales enablement/training and communications to demonstrate and quantify the business value of Windstream's solutions
  • Support field and channel partners in sales and marketing activities to drive adoption of our products.
  • Measure, analyze, and report campaign performance.
  • Encourage company-wide success through active and consistent support of all efforts to simplify and enhance the client experience.
  • Define and prioritize opportunities to present multiple products as solutions in unique and valuable ways to the market.
  • Achieve marketing objectives by defining marketing requirements, establishing a comprehensive marketing strategy and leading cross-functional teams to implement the plan to grow awareness, preference and purchase of existing products.
  • Create brand and portfolio appeal and ensure specific audience needs are addressed by defining, sizing, and prioritizing the market, identifying requirements, and defining marketing segments, target audiences and personas.
  • Research the current buyer and competitor market through proactive market scans, client and seller interviews and communication with internal and external research groups, technology vendors, industry organizations and other expert sources.
  • Guide marketing efforts by conceptualizing, defining, and crafting clear, persuasive website copy, seller reference materials, return on investment (ROI) tools, battle cards, product briefs and product presentations while ensuring all Sales reference materials remain current.

Do You Have?

  • College degree and 12+ years professional level experience with 4-6 years supervisory experience; or 16+ years professional level related experience with 4-6 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
  • 15+ years of creative content experience; preferably in the technology industry and/or SaaS and you bring a passion for management.
  • A strong point of view for the future of content strategy and how it maps to our campaigns; experience in building out the business case to pursue it.
  • An aptitude for working within complex messaging hierarchies to deliver an effective content marketing strategy and editorial plan/calendar to meet business objectives.
  • Proven experience mapping SEO initiatives to company growth imperatives.
  • Analytical acumen—the ability to provide context behind our results and share with relevant partners.
  • Copyediting experience with best-in-class standards for editorial quality. In addition, you bring an immaculate attention to detail across all of your work.
  • The role requires working cross functionally with campaign marketing, public relations, corporate communications, partner marketing, product marketing, developer marketing, sales, creative and other teams.
  • Experience in Uberflip, Alyce, Outreach, Marketo, Boost.ai and other parts of the martech stack
