Job Description:

  • Takes financial, network, and location data provided by the reporting team and translates that data into the appropriate format for the broadband program governing authority (state, county, etc.).
  • Assists in writing applications for future government broadband support programs. 
  • May be asked to serve as primary contact representing Windstream to government broadband program authorities.  Works to develop strong working relationships with government contacts to facilitate communication and represent Windstream’s interests.  Brings subject matter experts, such as engineering, into the conversation as required. 
  • Coordinates with legal team to review, redline, and execute broadband program contracts and supporting material.
  • Defines the program reporting requirements based on government guidelines.  Works with other Strategy Team resources to define data requirements and then translate the output into the required format.  Partners with Internal Audit where necessary to ensure accuracy and supports audits by federal or state authorities.
  • Works with Windstream reporting team to ensure proper recording of any funding received or expected in the future.  Writes, and ensures accuracy of, project reimbursement requests. Submits reimbursement requests to the governing agency and confirms funding is properly received and booked.  
  • Tracks progress in all assigned subsidy programs and manages to the program deadline.  Identifies key milestones and contributes to reporting used by executive decision makers. 
  • Addresses ad hoc requests for program information from groups such as accounting, legal, and regulatory compliance.
  • Windstream contact for government agencies collecting or updating mapping data.  Communicates with the appropriate authorities to define their requirements, and then works with other Windstream team members to generate the requested information. 
  • Prepares reports for federal and state regulatory agencies documenting Windstream compliance with various government broadband expansion programs.  

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years professional level job related experience.  
  • Working knowledge and experience with Excel, strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

Preferred Experience:  

  • Business reporting and presentations
  • Prior work with state or federal government agencies  
  • Program management experience 
  • Telecom experience
