Operations Engineer II/III - Wholesale NOC





 About the Role:  




  • The Engineer II/III Wholesale NOC role is a Tier III Operations Engineer function. The Operations Engineer function will be responsible for technical support within the Windstream Wholesale NOC, delivering training to NOC team members, assisting with chronic customer circuit issues, and identifying improvement areas to allow for more efficient NOC tasks.  The Operations Engineer will work to identify network conditions that require to eb remedied prior to causing service outages to Windstream Wholesale customers. 





What You’ll Do:  




  • Provides fault management and technical analysis for customer circuits and network repair 

  • Analyzes the performance of network systems and tools 

  • Serves as a technical escalation point of contact for Wholesale NOC team members 

  • Performs engineering design evaluations of customer circuits and the Windstream National network 

  • Provides technical leadership and direction in areas of expertise for engineering staff.  

  • Enhances operations and maintains reliability of network systems.  

  • May perform administrative work relating to projects and assignments.  

  • Acts as technical consultant within the Wholesale NOC  

  • Works on problems of diverse scope and technical requirements.  

  • Exercise full understanding of practices, policies, and procedures.  



 



Do You Have?  




  • College degree and 5-7 years’ experience or 9 + years equivalent related Engineering/Technical experience or a combination of education and related Engineering/Technical experience required.  

  • Desired Qualifications: Ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice. Ability to stay current with the economic and technological developments in the industry. 



 



Minimum Requirements:  




  • Computer software knowledge to include Microsoft Office, Custom Planning Tools and Databases.  

  • Good analytical skills: the ability to prioritize projects; good oral and written communication skills; and good interpersonal skills 

  • Good knowledge of accepted engineering practices.  

  • Analytical problem solving 

  • Hard working, Energetic, and Team Player
