Network Engineer lll



Windstream’s Corporate Network Engineering team is responsible for design, deployment and operational support of our data center IP network infrastructure hosted onsite and in the cloud. The team is also responsible for corporate office, retail store and internal user connectivity.





Responsibilities include installation, operation and break/fix support of the following:





Cisco and Juniper routers and switches on user networks



Cisco Nexus and ACI Leaf and Spine data center deployments



A10 and NetScaler SLBs



Azure and Oracle Cloud Services



Juniper Mist AP



Vendor B2B VPN Tunnels terminating on Cisco ASR





As a member of the team you will interface with IT systems teams to design, configure and troubleshoot host reachability and be part of the on-call rotation for systemic break/fix incidents.





Desired qualifications:



Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.



Minimum five (5) years of experience in networking and the telecom field.



Excellent TCP/IP networking skills.



Strong experience in data center networking technologies, including Spine and Leaf architecture.



Excellent skills in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Juniper routers and switches.



Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS).



Experience with Microsoft Visio.



Excellent communication skills.



Experience as a Systems Administrator is a plus.



Familiarity with various operating systems and server platforms is a plus.



Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language is a plus.

Minimum Requirements:
College degree in Engineering or a related field and 3-5 years professional level experience; or 7 years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
