Windstream is looking for an IT Security professional to join our team. A core function of this position is to interact with multiple teams and support multiple tools and processes related to user access, user provisioning, log reviews, projects and audits. In this exciting and advanced role, you will work with business units, process owners and cutting-edge technologies to detect, analyze, prevent and mitigate security risks. The ideal candidate for this position should have significant security experience, excellent networking skills, a strong understanding of information security risks, IT technologies and a passion for the security discipline.

Job Functions:

  • Understanding and enforcement of security policies and processes
  • Performs log monitoring, reporting, analysis and resolution of user activity/violation in multiple server environments
  • Serves as a technical resource for IT security development and implementation projects
  • Communicates and collaborates with multiple lines of business and information technology teams within Windstream to help provide effective solutions
  • Builds effective relationships with key stakeholders who own and support IT infrastructure, applications, processes and operations
  • Engage in the initial requirements definition for incoming tools, projects and programs as a SME
  • Identify enhancements to IS tools, standards and processes
  • Supports junior Analysts when necessary
  • Develops project plans, requirement documentation, test plans, change requests and communication to users
  • Periodically works off hours to support project schedule or system support
  • On-call rotation
  • Adheres to all Windstream and IT policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experienced in application support or other technical IT/security discipline
  • Good understanding of network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, Router ACLs, Enterprise AV, Content Filtering, DLP, SIEM and forensics required
  • Working knowledge of PCI and IT general controls required
  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux admin commands strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle, MS Windows, MS SQL VPN/CorpRAS/MFA strongly preferred
  • Analytical/problem solving skills
  • Ability to conduct research into IT security issues and products as required
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated and directed; strong time management and organizational skills
  • Confident and assertive personality, comfortable leading meetings or work group sessions
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Able to use internal tools to research and gain institutional knowledge
  • Ability to deliver training to an audience with a wide array of skill sets
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • ITIL experience preferred
  • The ideal candidate should also understand Cyber Threat Intel and would have taken over work beyond the Analyst II job role

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

College degree in a Technical or related field and 3-5 years professional level experience with 0-1 year supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 7 years professional level related Technical experience with 0-1 year supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience required.
