Consultant - Access

About the Role:

This position will be responsible for financial modeling and analysis on Windstream’s Access/Interconnection expense.  The position will work closely with other teams across the Access organization, Accounting, and Enterprise Finance.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Rate Increase Analysis:  Tracking rate increase notifications from Windstream’s vendors.  The Consultant will forecast the financial impacts from rate increases and explain the variances.
  • Support contract negotiations by modeling the financial impacts under different scenarios and cost structures.
  • Develop monthly accruals for credits due under the Term and Commitment Plans that Windstream has with the major vendors.
  • Monthly Reporting:  Communicate deadlines to the Access teams.  Consolidate and format the monthly executive reporting package.


  • Must have the ability to remain focused and multi task in a fast-paced environment while performing required duties within specified timelines
  • Advanced experience creating financial models in Excel.
  • Experience creating Tableau views.
  • Experience writing SQL query against oracle tables.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Experience in Accounting and Financial Analysis, experience in the Telecom industry
  • Must demonstrate a positive and constructive attitude

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

College degree and 5-7 years professional level experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or 9 years professional level related experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and
