Analyst I/II – Finance (Claims and Collections)

This is a fast-paced position with direct customer contact that requires resourcefulness and self-direction. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of carrier customer accounts and achieve stated goals/duties:

  • Collect from carrier customers for unpaid switch/special access charges. The collection process must be carried out in a friendly, firm, and professional manner.
  • Resolve disputed amounts billed and recommend prospective billing corrections to avoid the recurrence of similar issues with limited direction.
  • Demonstrate aptitude to learn the various data tables used for reporting and produce operational reports.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand the basis behind a customer question or need which will reduce the amount of communication with customer.
  • Develop communications that persuade and influence target audience.
  • Maintain dialog in difficult or tense situations; listen effectively.
  • Recommend and manage accounting reserve amounts for billings that become disputed and uncollectible.
  • Improve the aged receivables of accounts assigned through collections and prompt dispute resolution.
  • Maintain collection tool with appropriate notes for reporting and keep management informed of status of account balances.
  • Build relationships with carrier counterparts and interdependent company teams to advance receivable collections or settlements.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and handle multiple, concurrent activities without sacrificing quality or impacting delivery dates.
  • Ability to develop and finalize solutions while working under training with other analysts and then independently.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, ability to comprehend complexities and relationships between issues.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  
College degree and 3-5 years professional level experience with 1 year supervisory experience for supervisory roles; or 7 years professional level related experience with 1 year supervisory experience for supervisory roles; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
